  • Skills Matrix for all staff employed at the group

  • Plan and manage workers skills development for both short term and long-term needs

  • Submit annual WSP/ATR

  • Apply for discretionary and mandatory grants

  • Implementation of individual development plans

  • In-house training for staff

  • Manage training budget

  • Industrial relations training for managers

  • Manage employment equity meetings/forums

  • Draft employment equity policies

  • Recruit within EE guidelines

  • Provide managers with training on issuing warnings, initiating a disciplinary hearing, etc.

  • Dealing with and resolving grievances in terms of the law

  • Provide reference letters

  • Provide termination documents (UI.19, salary schedule, final payslip, certificate of service, etc.)

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll function to ensure accurate and timely processing of all payrolls.

  • Supervise and provide guidance to the payroll team, ensuring payroll procedures and deadlines are consistently met.

  • Review and approve payroll input, calculations, statutory deductions, allowances, overtime, leave, and final payments before payroll is processed.

  • Conduct final payroll verification and sign off the payroll prior to processing salary payments.

  • Authorise the loading and release of salary payments through the banking system in accordance with company approval processes.

  • Ensure payroll complies with all applicable South African legislation, including PAYE, UIF, SDL, pension/provident fund, bargaining council requirements, and other statutory obligations.

  • Monitor payroll controls to minimise errors, prevent fraud, and maintain confidentiality of employee information.

  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of payroll reports and statutory deductions before submission to Finance and relevant authorities.

  • Resolve complex payroll queries and provide support to management and employees on payroll-related matters.

  • Ensure payroll records are maintained accurately and are audit-ready.

  • Liaise with Accountant

  • Review payroll policies and procedures and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

  • Ensure all payroll processes comply with internal company policies and legislative requirements and that payroll audits are completed successfully

  • Drafting policies and procedures/Disciplinary code

  • Prepare skills assessments and competency frameworks

  • Create job grading

  • Create and maintain job descriptions and job advertisements

  • Processing of all COIDA, sending medical reports and uploading documents

  • Ensure COIDA submission, forecast and payments are done annually
